While the older buildings are abandoned, a few blocks away from the main strip, you'll find new Jeeps and satellite dishes for television at a few newer homes. St. Elmo becomes a ghost town The boom of the 1910s waned by the end of the decade and the local mining industry was in serious decline. Before long, she met a young man named Ward and in 1922 they married, sending a telegram to her family that they were moving to Trinidad.
