The room was spacious and clean, and Carmel is a lovely little town.The room was really dirty , old and the furniture was falling to pieces.

Compared to the Hotel Carmel or Briarwood, the Wayfarer looks like a Motel 6. Not what we expected for $500 a night (AT&T tournament at Pebble over the weekend). Two big issues on my stay. I called up, and was offered the last room available at $130/night (with AAA discount). Our guests praise the helpful staff and the overall value in our reviews. Overall, I would not suggest this hotel to anybody; nor, would I stay here again. It's everything the previous reviews say. As I mentioned, there isn't much foot traffic, but there is traffic outside with cars driving by every few minutes or so. Beds feature down comforters and premium bedding. Keep me signed in We stayed in the "Family Suite" with our two teenagers and small dog, and I woke up at 1:00 am with bites all over my body.

The rooms and furniture are sadly outdated and the carpentry is poor. I saw lots of families with young children. I normally say you get what you paid for but this hotel isn’t necessarily cheap.

When we reported it to the manager we were met with "Pied Piper comes every month....are you sure?" For over 100$ a night the shower should work.
