I used a Pelikan rollerball refill in my M6x-taking Lamy Liner. Use that as the spacer.I think its pretty comfortable and you can choke up on it so your hand is up a bit on the grip. I know I'll get a ton of use out of this thing. But it's a more expensive one, but still an interesting data point. I know of an alternative! I put some tape on the end of it to extend it 1/8 - 1/4 inch. I love the M63 for the first day but they run out so quick and start to skip after a few days. 1 year ago. I've yet to try the Dialog 1 ballpoint by LAMY which I believe has a bit of a telescoping action, so this one may be out... we'll see.All in all, this is a sweet little piece of equipment to help enhance your daily writing with the pens you love. I believe I paid around $15 total to get it, but I figured it would be worth a try.

Cheap? There are a lot of beloved gel, hybrid, or other ballpoint refills like the Zebra Sharbo X, Uniball Jetstream, or Fisher Space pen that are made with a D1 size so this opened a whole new world of opportunity. These adapters only seem to be found in Japan, but I located a seller on eBay (from Japan) that had some listed. But in the end this safes you only a few cent. The G2 size refill diamter and tip size fits, it's just a little short overall. How do you like the Lamy grip? It took a month to get here, so I was hoping it was worth the wait. The adapter is a small piece made of two parts: a black plastic sleeve section where you insert the D1 and a metal base which you insert into the pen. I was thinking of getting one for using G2 refills in but I tend to grip pens quite close to the tip and am not sure I'd like the triangular grip that forces you into a certain place.Even simpler - take a dead Pilot G2 refill and pull out the plastic cap at the rear end of the tube. I'd wager that it is due to the telescoping tip mechanism which may have some slightly different tolerances. The tip extended and retracted without issue and writing didn't yield any of the dreaded "wiggle" we often get with retractable pens.My thoughts are that the adapter would fit well in most LAMY ballpoints like the Safari, AL-Star, Eco, and other less complicated ones. Kind of a bummer, but I may try to do some "modifications" to the adapter to see if I can get it to fit.Instead, I loaded the adapter and gel refill into my stainless steel LAMY 2000 ballpoint and it fit perfectly. It is very well made.My initial hopes would be that it would work in my vintage LAMY Unic ballpoints, but it unfortunately didn't seem to fit properly. Many people really enjoy the the modern look and feel of the various LAMY ballpoint models, but absolutely hate the M16 refill that comes with it. Now, I personally don't find it too offensive to use for everyday writing, but what if there was potentially a better way?About a month or so ago I got a message through Instagram by Anson Chiu (@neotrooper) with a picture of something he had just bought that I had never heard of: an adapter for your LAMY ballpoints...What this adapter does is allow the user to insert the tiny D1 refills that we most commonly find in multipens into a LAMY ballpoint pen format. You could remove the long endcap from an empty Lamy rollerball refill and put it on a full alternative refill. The Lamy refills are made by Schmidt Technology (Lamy M63 = Schmidt SRC 5888 Medium with different endcap). It is a little disappointing because it is really a great pen body, but the cartridge is sub par.I have used Sigmo 207 and Energel refills in my Safari Rollerball using the techniques that You can use a Pilot G2 gell refill (or any compatible one) simply by adding a few mm of something like cutting a bit of am empty plastic refill tube or even a wad of paper and putting in the pen tube first. Any alternatives that would fit the Safari? The Lamy 2000 RB also uses the M63 and I agree 100%. New review is up on… How to Use Pilot G2 Refill In the Lamy Safari (Ditch the M63)

Perfect now. I had a 0.5mm Zebra gel refill available in my stash to test with, which also happens to be a favorite.. My initial hopes would be that it would work in my vintage LAMY Unic ballpoints, but it unfortunately didn't seem to fit properly. It was almost a perfect fit, but it was a bit short. I'd wager that it is due to the telescoping tip mechanism which may have some slightly different tolerances. I really like the design of the pen so the triangular grip is an ok compromiseNew comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castA subreddit dedicated to pens!
