I've had better from a grocery store. We ordered calamari appetizer which was a bit pricey for $17 but it was delicious and we shared 12" pizza which was enough for two persons to share. We were all pleased with our pizza, meatballs, shrimp scampi and flatbread. The atmosphere is comfortable casual yet is more upscale than one would expect from a ski village. The pizza type is more like a New York style pizza than a Neapolitan pizza. My favorite pasta is The Pesto. Upon finishing dessert, I seriously contemplated if she'd enjoy Slice Bistro.
But everything else was pretty good. WOW. He stopped by our table to make sure everything was as we liked. Would definitely make this one of my nights out again.The seafood melody was so delicious, the mussels were fantastic & made me wish I had ordered the mussel appetizer to have more! Salads were excellent, and lasagna was just above average.
Lucky that we got there before it got crowded. The pizzas are excellent and there is a good selection of choices on the menu.

State 38 is the newest culinary addition to the Snowmass Base Village. Every pizza we have had here is amazing because the sauce & crust is on point. The prices on the other dishes didn't look too bad either, the place was pretty classy, and the wait staff and management was super friendly and adequately attentive.Fantastic service (at the bar), great wine list, pizza was really good. It would’ve been more, but...The pizza on other tables looked very good. The restaurant is packed always as they have more than just pizza. Very attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. We really enjoyed our dinner -- caprese salad and veggie pizza.We were happy with Slice.
