It's such a shame because it's wonderful when it works! So, I'm new to FP, so take this all in with this knowledge. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. The main reason I purchased this pen was aesthetics—it looks sharp. I have five fountain pens and this pen is off in a drawer rarely getting used. Cross brings modern industrial design trends to the fore in this chic, urban ATX redesign.
Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations I say AVOID. Sometimes, this is due to the fact that fine nibs are in fact, fine. I personally like this quality. This pen is an example: the fit and finish is inferior, with a strip on the cap where it apparently rested during manufacture, leaving a distinct swathe that visibly does not match the rest of the pen's finish.
I ordered this as it was a nice modern looking pen and I liked the understated black on black. It is probably last on my list of favorite pens. You can still see all customer reviews for the product. Please make sure that you are posting in the form of a question. It is worth noting that the Cross ATX seems to "mold" itself to it's user's writing style after a while (though it may be that the user psychologically becomes more and more accustomed to it). The elegant, black fountain pen features a handmade, precision-ground stainless steel nib size M. Its sleek silhouette is sharply dressed in diamond-patterned, machine-turned engravings on blackened steel and copper tones for an unmistakably bold look. I'd recommend.
(It's made in China, too, not in the USA like they were years ago.) Don't be fooled by the brand name, because these days the quality is just not there. I know it is not a very expensive fountain pen, but I have many other fountain pens that are in the ~$50 range that perform/feel much better. The nib is on the scratchy side--not much ink flows through, unless you use very absorbent paper. That would rate 5 stars. Even its stainless steel nib is steeped in Black to complete the look. The section body and cap are all metal. The slippery section could be a problem if you intend to write for extended periods, but for odd notes and signatures it is fine. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. This pen looks quite classy and sleek! I am so very happy
For a pen that costs three times the price of a Safari, I expect exceptionality. My Lamy Safari is my "carry-around" pen, and this Cross ATX and the Jinhao I use for extended writing at home. As a writer, I use different pens for different material types. Gorgeous pen. I was able to compare it to one I bought from Cross because when this one arrived I saw that there is a space where it can be engraved, so I bought one from the Cross company with my name engraved on it and they seem to be the exact same pen (sometimes I worry about knock-offs). It is an excellent pen very soft writing, pretty modern look, stylish, as any cross product it is high quality Whichever case is fact, this is another good quality. For a Cross pen, the ATX it is very affordable. I love this pen. Designed by Cross. I ordered it with a fine nib because I have found that Cross' medium nibs seem to be a little too bold for me. I also use a Lamy Safari and a Jinhao med. nib fountain pen, and compared to them, the ATX gives a lot more "feedback," but isn't quite "scratchy." This is my 5th cross pen, and undoubtedly my favorite thus far.... a Cross pen for 15+ years (it was most like a Bailey or Calais) and I finally had to ...So I have used a Cross pen for 15+ years (it was most like a Bailey or Calais) and I finally had to ship it off for repair. The color and appearance are even better in person. It's just horrible. The cap finishes the pen off nicely capped or posted this pen looks sharp. This is the worst fountain pen that I own, and it is another item that Amazon reviews totally failed me. The model takes into account factors including the age of a rating, whether the ratings are from verified purchasers, and factors that establish reviewer trustworthiness. This page works best with JavaScript. Good quality. Its sleek Silhouette is sharply dressed in diamond-patterned, machine-turned engravings on blackened steel with polished black appointments. I have the ATX ballpoint and was pleasantly surprised. Seems like it’s got sand or fine particles in the mechanism preventing it from working well. Maybe I got a bad piece... who knows. However, writing with it is just tedious. I personally like this quality. This is one of the prettier pens that I have purchased. The chrome and lacquer are well done and fairly durable in that they will easily withstand normal operations like uncapping posting and recapping. Secondly, if you do press it down snugly, the extend and retract process makes this nails on chalk board sound that I would maybe expect in a free pen from a conference.
This pen is very lightweight and plasticky--like a cheap disposable throw-away pen. The Jinhao is my fiction/old-fantasy pen, and this ATX is my nonfiction/sci-fi pen. The ink flow is good, as with most Cross fountain pens, but that is the only redeeming feature of this pen. However, in this case, the fine nib is not even all that fine--it writes more like a medium to me, but still scratchy, so it's really the worst of both worlds. This is a solid, sturdy, very aesthetic pen.
I mean, look at the matt black body with the chrome finishing. The color is a luminous blue that photos don’t do justice. The flow is great and the nib is not too fine.
